These micrographs were taken at the Microscopy Unit at Uppsala University and at the department of Geological Science at Stockholm University.

The first are light and electron scanning microscope (SEM) micrographs from plant macrofossils isolated from Hässeldala lake sediments (11-14 kyr BP). The successive are electron microscope photos of Pinus, Picea and Abies pollen few thousand years old retrieved from Lago Piccolo di Avigliana core on the Italian Alps and from Norwegina and Swedish lakes. The last micrograph is a light microscope photo of Picea pollen in sediments from lakes.
